Karen Clark Mills, resident of Foster City, our devoted wife, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012, after fighting to recover from a recent heart condition. Born February 11, 1951, Karen was the second child and first daughter of Dean and Shirlee Clark. Born in San Francisco, Karen lived in Foster City for more than 40 years. She and her late husband, Wayne Mills, were baseball enthusiasts, holding season tickets and attending spring training for both the Giants and the As.
Karen possessed a kind and caring nature, faithfully taking care of her ailing husband for several years. She was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer encouragement. With only her bike for transportation, she would deliver groceries to the needy. Karen loved animals. One of her favorite small jobs was walking her neighbor's dogs. Karen will be remembered for her compassion, her courage in the face of challenges, and for her embodiment of the Savior's admonition to "be as a little child." Karen was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Don Wayne Mills, her parents, Dean and Shirlee Clark, and her sister, Sandy Whyte. She is survived by brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, in-laws and a host of loving, caring friends.
