Bettie Wyatt, 86, of Euless passed away at a local retirement center on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, after several years' struggle with dementia. Burial: Monday in Jenkins Springs Cemetery, Brownwood. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home, 523 S. Main St., Grapevine. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Jenkins Springs Cemetery Association, 8301 CR 292, Brownwood, Texas 76802. Bettie was born March 7, 1926, in Paris, Lamar County, to Joe E. and Miranda Stewart Harrison. She graduated with honors from Paris High School in 1943. After graduation, she moved to Dallas where she went to work as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone. After many years in the Dallas area, Bettie and her husband of 41 years, Gene, moved to Burleson in 1974, where she pursued a career in real estate and enjoyed volunteering as an usher at Casa Manana Theater in Fort Worth. In the mid-'80s, the couple moved to Euless and Bettie expanded her longtime interest in genealogical research. The couple traveled extensively throughout Texas and the Carolinas in pursuit of family records. She also developed her computer skills to track her research; for over 15 years, she volunteered with and was on the board for the Computer Users Group at Tarrant County College, working with local seniors. Survivors: Her three children, her daughter and son-in-law, Constance and Keith Hays of Acton, her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Kenneth Williams and Teresa Renner of Lakeway, and daughter, Karen Wyatt of Euless; her grandsons, Jacob, Matthew and Maddison Williams; and her great-granddaughter, Parker Kay Williams.
