Actor. Born Donald Walter Guadagno, he was a prolific character actor who was best known for his affiliation and friendship with Steve McQueen, as the two appeared together in several films as well as a television series. In a career spanning eight decades, he had roles in such films as 'Twelve O' Clock High' (1949), 'Halls of Montezuma' (1951), 'The Benny Goodman Story' (1956) and 'Cry Tough' (1959). In the late '50s, he guest-starred on McQueen's western TV series, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive', forging a life-long friendship until McQueen's untimely death in 1980. They would appear alongside one another in 'Bullitt' (1968), 'Papillon' (1973) and 'The Towering Inferno' (1974). Among other films he appeared in were 'The Gambler' (1970), 'Slaughter' (1972), 'The Education of Sonny Carson' (1974), 'Omen III: Final Conflict' (1981), 'Lethal Weapon' (1987), 'Exorcist III' (1991) and 'Legion' (2016). Among the dozens of TV shows and series he had roles on were 'Space Patrol', 'Mister Peepers', 'Frontier', '77 Sunset Strip', 'The Blue Angels', 'The Untouchables', 'Twilight Zone', 'Outer Limits', 'Peyton Place', 'The F.B.I.', 'T.J. Hooker' and 'Remington Steele.' Gordon, who was married to actresses Helen Westcott from 1948 to 1953, Nita Talbot from 1954 to 1958, Bek Nelson from 1959 to 1979 and Denise Farr in 1979, died of natural causes.
