Add PhotosMs. Johnson writes that at the time she located, the Rodman Cemetery, F. A. Brockway's military marker, a Civil War Veteran, was the only stone in the cemetery. At that time the cemetery was located in the pasture of farmland owned by. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Martin in the Madison Community. Ms. Johnson also states there were thirteen unmarked, countable graves. She was told by an elderly lady in the community, a Rodman descendant, that this was the churchyard of an old church called "Shiloh Church", and that her father had given her the information. According to her, the church was abandoned sometime after the Civil War.
Ms. Johnson was given names of other unmarked graves from a Rodman Familly Bible.
Mr. Martin passed away about 1988 and his farm was sold. When visited in 1998 by a great-grandson of F. A. Brockway, there was a housing development in the area. He was able to locate the marker for his great-grandfather, F. A. Brockway. Credit for the photo provided here on Find-a-Grave should be given to Wesley Brockway great-grandson of F. A. Brockway.
The cemetery is located in Madison County, Alabama near the town of Madison. Land description Township 3, Range 2W, Section 35.
