Winifred Louise Shaw Raker, age 85, passed away on October 21, 2012.
She was born in Dixie County on October 18, 1927. She was married for 62 years to Herbert H. Raker Sr., who preceded her in death in 2010. Winnie was a stay at home mom and raised her four children to adulthood. She and Herbert founded Herbert H. Raker and Son Land Surveying in January 1979 and worked in the business until 2003. She was a member of Lydia Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters Penny Robson; Dianne (Karl) Koschatzky and Judy Hatcher and her son Herbie (Suzanne) Raker all of Cross City, FL; (10) Grandchildren; (23) Great-Grandchildren and a sister, Thelma Byrd of Live Oak, FL.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Clayton and Nomia Shaw; her sister, Merle Daniel; her son-in-law, Billy Robson and her Great-Granddaughter Spencer Grace Koschatzky.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 24, between 6 and 8 pm at Rick Gooding Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 25 at Lydia Baptist Church with Rev. Eldridge Lyons and Rev. Jarrett Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Cross City Cemetery with Rev. Leon Holden officiating at graveside.
Arrangements have been placed under the care of Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, Florida, 352-498-5400.
