70, of Hollywood Boulevard, South Bend, Ind., passed away after a short illness at 4:16 a.m. on Friday, June 19th, in St. Joseph's Medical Center.
Mr. Kovach was born on April 2, 1928, in South Bend, and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Kovach and Mary Landaw Kovach.
On June 21, 1980, in South Bend, he married Sharon Myers, who survives.
He is also survived by three daughters, Nancy Aker of Seminole, Fla., Cindy Nagy and Jennifer Stuff, both of South Bend; seven wonderful, loving grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Emmalou Leopold of South Bend; and by a brother, Gene Kovach of South Bend.
Mr. Kovach retired from the Fairington Apartments in 1989 after many years of service.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 21st, at the Hanley & Sons 'Southwest Chapel' Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road and Indiana 23,
South Bend.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 22nd, at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, with Rev. George Dubowski, OFM, officiating. Burial will take place at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend.
The family requests that all memorials be made to the Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church Building Fund.
