1900 - 1966

Mrs. Ramona Farrer Cottam, 66, 71 E. 4th S., Provo, died Saturday morning in the Utah Valley Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 14, 1900 in Provo, the daughter of Thomas S. and Roseltha Hardy Farrer. She married Moroni Jarvis Cottam on Sept. 4, 1924 in the St. George LDS Temple.

She received her education in the Provo city schools and graduated from Brigham Young Academy in 1920 with a teaching certificate. She taught school at the Timpanogas school, the Brigham Young University training school and the nursery school at the Meno Trope Hall in the Provo Community Church. When the latter nursery school was closed in 1940 she organized her own private nursery school in her home which she operated for over 20 years.

She was the Provo First Ward librarian, where she had lived until her death. With Emma Wakefield she co-authored the book, "Through the Years," which is still sold in bookstores throughout Utah.

She was active in the Veterans of Foreigh Wars Auxillary serving as historian; the Creative Fine Arts Club and the Provo High School Women. In 1962 the BYU Women elected her to an honorary membership. Among her many hobbies were dolls of every age and period. She was a member of the Empire Doll Collectors of Utah and the United Federation of Doll Clubs. Her stamp collection was the envy of the most professional collector.
