This is my grandmother's obituary.

Genevieve "Gen" Irving passed away November 18, 2010 at her granddaughter's
home in Portland.

Gen was born to Sidney and Naomi Woodward in Cascade Locks, Oregon on
January 8, 1923. She was a beautiful child and woman with black hair and
blue eyes. Gen was one-fourth Native American, part of the Wyem Tribe. Gen
was proud of her ancestry and her family.

In 1936 when President Roosevelt dedicated the Bonneville Dam, Gen was
selected to present flowers to the President and his wife. It was a
highlight of her young life. She attended school at Bonneville Elementary
and Cascade Locks High School.

In 1941 she married Bo Jenkins and they had two children, Janet & Chester.
After the war Gen met the love of her life William " Mont " L. Irving. Gen
and Mont were married May 19, 1947. They had two daughters, Sherilyn &
Elizabeth. Mont passed away January 27th of this year.

Gen was a good seamstress and loved making clothes for her children. She sold
Avon and TupperWare when the children were young as well as working as a
waitress, a dry cleaner, and taught dance and roller skating lessons. She
enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, and being with her grandchildren.

Gen loved her family and spending time with family and friends was very
important to her. She and Mont were very active with the "Cooties" a branch
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Gen was a proud member of the VFW ladies -
Auxilary of Cooties.
