He was a member of VFW Post 10420, American Legion Post 0178, and Masonic Lodge 368 of Murrells Inlet. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He was a life member and plank owner of the USS North Carolina Battleship Association.
He is survived by his wife, son, granddaughter, grandson, great-granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters.
