Mrs. Fernata Curtis, 85, died at 6:15 PM Sunday and the Rest Haven home at 609 W. 4th St. She was born in Pella, October 17, 1861, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Miller.

On October 7, 1880 she was married to Fernando Curtis at St. Joseph, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1924, she survived by two sons, Elmer and Clarence Curtis both of Ottumwa; two daughters. Mrs. Lillian Barurch and Mrs. Jesse C. Babcock, both of Ottumwa; and one brother, Moses Miller of New Bloomfield, Missouri. 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren also survived.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 PM in the Carroll Reese funeral home in charge of the Rev. Harold Roberts of the First Christian Church. Burial will be in McCormick cemetery at Highland Center. Pallbearers will be Gene Barurch, Hurbert Park, William Park, Harold Babcock, Dick Montague, and Harold Raines.
