June M. Crooms - METTER - Lavonne June Milton Crooms, 74, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Candler County Hospital.
Born in Bulloch County, she lived most of her life in Candler County. In earlier years, she was employed at Twin City Manufacturing Company and later a clerk at Flynt's Convenience Store and Cedar Center. As a member of the Cedar Street Baptist Church, she was a member of the choir, Golden Agers, the flower committee and the hostess committee. The children will miss her purse full of candy, she lovingly shared.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Crooms; parents, William G. and Manie L. Milton and a brother, Robert E. Milton. Survivors are a brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Brenda Milton of Stateboro; a brother- in-law and two sisters- in-law, Hubert and Louise Crooms and Catherine Meeks all of Metter; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2:00 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with burial in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
