Services for Clara B. Davis, of Meadville, are 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb with burial in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in McCall Creek. The Rev. Wiley Reid and Elder Luke Addison will officiate.
Visitation is Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis, 92, died Nov. 23, 2007, at Franklin County Hospital. She was born in Franklin County on Oct. 8, 1915, to Zack and Martha Ratliff Nordan.
She was a homemaker and a loving mother of eight children. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church in Franklin County.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Alvie Davis; her sons, Rudolf Davis, Billy Ray Davis, Leo Davis and William Davis; and two brothers, Wince Nordan and William Nordan.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Buford and Pat Davis, of Meadville; her daughters and sons-in-law, Clara Jean and Emmit Johnston, of McComb, Wanda and James Newman, of Smithdale, and Geneva Harrigill, of Meadville; her daughters-in-law, Dianne Davis, of Summit, Nadene Davis, of Liberty, Katherine Davis, of Natchez, and Kathy Davis, of Smithdale; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ammie and Prentiss Dillon, of Meadville, Barbara Jean and Edward Jones, of Brandon, and Rosie Allen, of Vicksburg; 27 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Bonds, Mark Davis, Michael Davis, Jamie Newman, Ricky Johnston and Paul Malone. Honorary pallbearers will also be grandsons.
