Albert Smith, 108 Sydenham Street West, Aylmer, died in the St. Tomas Elgin General Hospital Tuesday evening of March 16 after a lengthy illness at the age of 64. Born in England he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith of Botha, Alberta. He came to Aylmer in 1942 from Stettler, where he resumed his barbering profession. He was an adherent of the United Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Ruby Crossett; two sons, Norman of Calgary and Edward (Ted) of Stettler; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Streit of Stettler; one brother, Joseph Smith of Stettler; nine grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. A brother, Ernest Smith, died four weeks ago at Stettler. Funeral services were held at Aylmer on Friday, March 19 at 2:00 pm at the Hughson Funeral Home with the Rev. Allan Logan officiating with burial at Aylmer Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Barned, Howard Gilbert, Watkin Livingston, Kenneth Turrill, Mel Adolph, Art Benner. Flower bearers, Charles Emmett, Kenneth Fitzpatrick, J. Campbell, Frank Stimers.
