Charles Doscher, 53 years old, of 998 Park pl., died on Monday of heart trouble, at his home. Mr. Doscher was born in New York City, the son of Claus Doscher, millionaire sugar refiner and founder of the New York City Refining Company. He was early in life associated with his father in the sugar refining business and was later engaged in the development of large tracts of real estate in East New York, where his father had been one of the original promoters of the German-American Improvement Company. Charles Doscher was a graduate of the Columbia University School of Mines. He was a director of the North Side Bank; a member of the National Geographical Society, the New York Zoological Society, the New York Botanical Gardens, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, and the American Forestry Association. He had a summer home at Dix Hills, L.I. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Bechtold Doscher. The funeral services will be held this evening and the interment tomorrow will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
