OBITUARY
Clifford Watkins
Clifford Watkins, 93, of Rising Star, died Sunday, November 9, 2003 at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at the Higginbotham Funeral Chapel, Lynn Starnes officiated. Burial was in the Rising Star Cemetery. Higginbotham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Clifford was born May 14, 1910 in Comanche County, TX. to M.M. Watkins and Edith (Parker) Watkins. He married Lou Lewis on October 23, 1940 in Ardmore, OK. He lived in Rising Star all of his life. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rising Star. He was a member of the Rising Star Masonic Lodge #688 for 67 years. He owned and operated Watkins Grocery Store for 41 years. He was a Veteran in the United States Air Force and served during World War II. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
Survivors are his brother, Ed Watkins and wife Dickie of Coleman; his sister, Billie Watkins Page and husband P.B.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Lue (Lewis) Watkins; parents; 3 sisters, Edra Claborn, Claudia Boggs and Opal Jo Guess.
