Hannah joined the Tyringham Shakers 26 Feb 1817 at the age of 18, so she was born before 26 Feb 1799. She remained with them for 32 years, where she worked as a wool carder and weaver. She left with Jeremiah Hawkins 06 Mar 1849, and they established housekeeping in a Shaker-owned dwelling located between the sawmill and Jerusalem. The Shakers forcibly evicted the couple and their goods from the residence, whereupon Jeremiah unsuccessfully sued for assault and the recovery of the property. In 1850 they were enumerated in Lee, but had relocated to Tyringham by 1860, where she remained for the rest of her life. She was debilitated by the time the 1880 federal census was taken and died of paralysis two years later.
