William Benjamin Tobey died yesterday at 12:40 p. m. at his home 708 S. Barstow street, after seven week's illness.
He was an old settler in Eau Claire county, having settled In the town of Union in 1880. About ten years ago he gave up farming and came to the city where he has resided until the time of his death.
Mr. Tobey was born March 1st. 1824 at Brownsville, N. Y. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his loss; Mr. Wm. Myron Tobey, of Greenville, Wis.; Mrs. L . A. Pardee, of Appleton; Mr. Elverton Tobey, of Antigo; James L. Tobey, of Milton. Wis. and Elmer E. Tobey of the town of Union, Eau Claire County. Mrs. L. A. Pardee and Mr. Elmer E. Tobey were the only children present at the time of his death; the others were unable to get here. The funeral arrangements will be announced Later.
