Coy A. Joyce, 75, of Patrick Springs, died Aug. 13, 2000, in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, of injuries received in an automobile accident. A native of Patrick County, he was born on Sept. 24, 1924, son of the late Abraham B. Joyce and the late Dovie Atkins Joyce.
He was retired from Fieldcrest Mills and a member of the Old Spoon Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Etta Dillon Joyce; five children: Winfred Joyce, Earl Joyce, Hank Joyce, Ann Plaster and David Joyce; two sisters: Irene Hancock and Margaret Turner; a brother, George Joyce; four grandchildren.
Burial will be at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
