Michael Lawyer, one of the oldest settlers of McDonough county, died a few days since. Deceased was a native of Frederick county, Virginia, where he was born on September 16, 1798. His parents moved to Ohio seven years later. His father died in that state. His widow, with her family, came west in 1837, settling in Tennessee township. The mother died in 1842.
While in Fayette county Ohio, in 1824, Mr. Lawyer was married to Miss Sarah Parker, by whom he had eleven children, ten of whom are yet living.
