Opal Inez (Ratliff) Holland passed away on Nov. 6, 2010 at the age of 98. She was born June 6, 1912 to Della (Moss) and William Jesse Ratliff in Burnet County. She married D.C. (Dea Christian) Holland on Nov. 22, 1932. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1987. She is also preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.

Opal was a seamstress and began her career over 50 years ago when she began working for Bill Walker's Cleaners in Llano. Opal was a lifetime resident of Llano and an active member of First Baptist Church; she enjoyed singing in the church Sanctuary Choir.

Opal is survived by her son, J.B. Holland and wife, Jackie, of Sedalia, Colo.; sister, Vernell Franklin of Cedar Park, Texas; three grandchildren, Jack Holland, Shirley Lynn Isham and Meloney Dea Holland and eight great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, Llano from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. and services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, 107 E. Luce St., Llano at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Rick Cundieff officiating. Burial will follow at the Llano City Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Jimmy Tyree, Joel Ratliff, Lynn Hoy, Ronnie Ratliff, Jr., Michael Franklin and Samuel Ely Holland.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir at P.O. Box 403, Llano, Texas 78643. Funeral arrangements made under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes, Inc. Llano, Texas.
