ELZIE L. GLAZE -- Services for Elzie Lawrence Glaze of Denison, 67 year-old retired baker and property manager who died Wednesday at a Dallas hospital following a lengthy illness, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Danny Wood of West Sherman Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Glaze was born in Heavner, Okla, a son of Willie L. and Lucy Jane Howell Glaze, and married Geneva Hutchings on Oct. 3, 1927, in Hugo, Okla. He was a baker for Baldridge Bakery in Lubbock for several years and managed rental property in Dallas and Lubbock for several years before retiring in 1978 and moving to Hugo, Okla. He and his wife moved to Denison in November 1985 and he was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Surviving are his wife; sons, Bob Glaze of Sherman, Dean Glaze of Port Arthur and Dale Glaze of Plano; daughter, Rita Sue Dale of Blossom; brothers, Clifford Glaze of Gridley, Calif. and Buford Glaze of Amarillo; sister, Ola Jobe of Antlers, Okla.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Scott Glaze, David Staggs Jr., Lawrence Dale Jr., Bob Glaze, Dean Glaze and Dale Glaze. The family will be at the residence, 1021 E Texas St., Denison. The initial burial was in West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas. However, due to prior wishes of the two people buried there, the bodies were removed to Hugo, Choctaw County, Oklahoma for reburial in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. This was accomplished by Dale Glaze on 9 Nov 2006.
