Melvin Brown Funeral Set For Monday
Melvin S. Brown, 84, of Turney, died Friday evening at 8:50 in his home.
The son of Randolph and Catherine Shoop Brown, he was born at Stahl on Apr. 26, 1887. He married Florence Naomi Novinger and to this marriage four children were born. She preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 1931 and on Jan. 27, 1946 in Kirksville he married Sleeth who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Robert F. Brown of Silvis, Ill., Paul C. Brown of Horse Shoe Bend, Ark. and Richard E. Brown of Vermillion, Ill.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; one daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Virginia) Copeland on July 31, 1966 and one granddaughter.
After noon today the body will be at the funeral home of Davis & Davis where funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev. Archie Cooper will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Novinger cemetery.
