Funeral Services At Novinger Cemetery Church Thursday.

Randolph Alexander Brown, 81-year-old resident of Connelsville, died at a local hospital at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

He was born on a farm 2 1-2 miles southeast of Green City on Jan. 1, 1859, and was a son of Alexander and Abigail Brown. When nine years old he moved with his parents to Ninevah, now Connelsville, where he spent the remainder of his life.

He was married to Catherine Shoop on January 1, 1879, and to this union six children were born, five of whom are living. They are Charles and Jesse of Joseph, Ore., Mrs. Mary Canady of Kansas City, Mo., Melvin of Brashear, and Alex Brown of Kirksville. Lillie, the youngest daughter, died Aug. 4, 1910, and the wife died April 8, 1930. One sister, Mrs. Frances Prehle [should be Preble] of Topeka, Kan., survives. He was later married to Ida May Sanborn, who survives. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was a Republican and a good citizen. He was the last in-law of the Jacob Shoop family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Novinger Cemetery Church, conducted by the Rev. Walter D. Canady, assisted by the Rev. Pyron McMillen, of the Kirksville Presbyterian Church. Burial in the Novinger Cemetery.

Funeral Today for R. A. Brown

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Novinger cemetery church for Randolph Alexander Brown, Generally known as Uncle Dolph Brown, who died Tuesday afternoon in a Kirksville hospital. Death followed a major operation performed last week, which the infirmaties of his advanced years made it impossible for him to survive.

Funeral servces [sic] this afternoon were conducted by the Rev. Walter D. Canady assisted by the Rev. Pyron McMillen of the Kirksville Presbyetrian church. Burial was in the Novinger cemetery.

Mr. Brown was born near Green City on January 1, 1859, one of the sons of Abigail and Alexander Brown. When he was 9 years old he moved with his parents to Ninevah, which is now Connelsville, where he lived the rest of his life.
