James A. "Jim" Person
Memorial services for James Arthur Person will be held Tuesday, April 25th, at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 2671 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Rev. John D. Spear and Rev. Duane Thibeau officiating. Mr. Person died on April 21st, in Bakersfield.
He retired from CPCSD after 25 years of service. He was awarded honorary memberships in the Nationa Association of Legal Secretaries and the California Association of Legal Secretaries after many years of assistance to those organizations.
Mr. Person was born in North Carolina, and had resided in Bakersfield for the past 33 years. He is survived by his wife, Ivy, of Bakersfield, and sons, Arthur Ed and wife Cheryl, of Mississippi, Stephen Person, M.D. and wife Cyndi, of Louisiana, and Pat Person and wife Regina, of Bakersfield. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Jim was a true 'southern gentleman', who will be missed by his family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to American Red Cross, American Cancer Society (Bakersfield) or Kern Hospice.
