John Arabie, 81, died at 8:47 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a native of Welsh and lived in Lake Charles most of his life. He was a member of Carpenter's Local 953. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in World War II and a member of VFW Post 2130. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Etta Young Arabie of Lake Charles; two sons, John Ronald "Dee" Arabie of DeQuincy and Roger Dale Arabie of Lake Charles; four daughters, Christine Hornsby, Charlotte Darbonne, and Juanita Moss all of Lake Charles and Stella Daigle of Beaumont, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one brother, Julius Arabie of Lake Charles and one sister, Agnes Martel of Moss Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Armond and Marie LeDoux Arabie.

Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
