Julius Arabie, 80, of Lake Charles passed away at 6:00 PM, Thursday, March 12, 2009 in his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles. Mr. Arabie was a member of Carpenter's Local #953 for over fifty years; owned and operated Julius Arabie Building Contractor, Inc. After retirement, he enjoyed doing tractor work, more as a hobby than work. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Doris Sims Arabie of Lake Charles; two sons, Mark Arabie and wife Paula of Lake Charles and Charles Arabie and wife Jackie of Ft. Myers, FL; two daughters, Connie Elliott and husband Jim of Gueydan and Jan Pavelka and husband Mike of Willis, TX; daughter-In-Law, Kathy Arabie of Houston, TX; four stepsons, Michael Seago and wife Haney of Ragley, Edwin Seago and wife Nancy of Moss Bluff, Joe Seago and wife Debbie, and Jesse Seago and wife Jennifer all of Lake Charles; three stepdaughters, Alta Allen of Iowa, Lori Cole of Lake Charles, and Kathy Chaisson and husband Joseph of Houma; thirty-nine grandchildren and fifty-one great grandchildren; one sister, Agnes Martel of Moss Bluff. He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Ruby Arabie; one son, Julius Allen Arabie; brothers, Joseph, John, Jessie, and Jasper Arabie; sister, Dora Thibodeaux, and stepson, Van Seago. His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Reverend Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM, Monday, with a scripture service at 6:30 PM followed by a rosary and continue from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM, Tuesday, in the funeral home.
