The following information was taken from the obiturary for David published in the 1974 minutes of the Mulberry Gap Association. It was written by his daughter, Audrey Bethel Dalton:
He professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Oak Hill Baptist Church, where he remained a member until death. He was married to Fannie Harville and to this union was born 13 children. His wife and 3 children preceded him in death.
He attended church as long as he was able.
A chair is vacant in our home, a voice we loved to hear is gone. It broke our hearts to give him up, but we know it was God's will. Sleep on dear Dad and take your rest, we love you but God loved you best.
