Luther Clinton "Barney" Barnhart, 77, of Martinsburg died Tuesday in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He was the son of the late Albert and Viola Long Barnhart.
He was a U. S. Army veteraan of World War II who served in the American Division in the Philippines. He was wounded and recieved a Purple Heart. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was retired, from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.He was a member of the American Legion Post 14 in Berkeley County, and the V.F. W. Post 1936, in Hagerstown, MD.

He leaves his wife, Pauline M. Fleckenstine Barnhart, at home; one son, Mike Galliher of Martinsburg; three daughters, Sherry Dick, Paula Greenfield, and Pennee Galliher, all of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, Damon Greenfield, Michelle Galliher and Jeffery Barnhart; one brother David Barnhart of Hagerstown, MD.; and two faithful friends, Pete and Doodle, at the home.

The family recieved friends at the Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg, WV. from 7 to 9 pm Thursday, September 14, 1995.

Funeral services were held at the Brown Funeral Home Friday, September 15, 1995 at 1 pm with Chaplain David E. Byers officiating.

Burial was made in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg, WV; with Military Honors at the graveside by the V.F.W. Post 1936 of Hagerstown, Md.
