MRS. ALICE JOYCE
Mrs. Alice Joyce, age 82,
resident of Richlands for
more than 45 years died
Monday evening, August 11
in a Abingdon, Va. Nursing
Home following a lingering
illness.
Mrs. Joyce was born in
Bloomingdale, Tenn., a
daughter of the late Joseph
and Mary Tate, both Tennessee
natives. Her husband, the
late George W. Joyce died in
1956. She was a member of
the Richlands Christian Church.
She is survived by five
sons, Ingram, Ira, Lister, all
of Richlands, Earl of Jewell
Valley and Richard of Mansfield,
Ohio; five daughters, Mrs.
James Vance of Cedar Bluff, Mrs.
Boyd Kinder of Jewell Ridge,
Mrs. Lillian Griffin of Dan-
ville, Va., and Mrs. Banner
Wilson and Mrs. John Nuckles,
both of Richlands; one brother,
Ernest Tate of Indian Springs,
Tenn.; and three sisters, Miss
Mary Tate of Blountville, Tenn.,
Mrs. Tom Craft of Bristol, Tenn.,
and Mrs. L. D. Tate of Hiltons,
Va.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday, August 13th at 2:30
p.m. in the First Christian
Church with the Rev. Dexter
Wasson in charge of the service.
Interment was in the Hankins
Cemetery. The body was re-
moved from the Farmer Funeral
Home to the residence of her
daughter, Mrs. John Nuckles
on Tuesday afternoon.
