Ira and his wife later moved from Missouri to California about the same time as their daughter Addie and her husband, Fred B. Younker moved out west--in 1932 the Gipsons lived in North Hollywood, California, on Roscoe St. Ira died about 15 Oct, 1933 at the age of 71.
For many years, Ira ran a rock crusher to separate gravel and sand to make concrete. He also drove loads with mule teams. On one occasion the family recalls that he was injured by a scraper.
Sometime after moving to California Ira and his wife joined the Seventh-day Adventist church.
Ira died 14 Oct 1933 in Roscoe, LA County.
