Gladys Mae (Watkins) Eubanks, 77, of Wolfe City died March 19, 2010, in her home. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City. Burial will follow in Tidwell Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Gladys was born June 18, 1932, in Boswell, Okla., to Earl and Carrie Farmer Watkins. She was the 10th child of a family of 14. She married the love of her life, Troy Eubanks, in Dallas on Feb. 17, 1950.
Gladys was an active participant and longtime member of Honey Creek Baptist Church. Gladys was employed at Texas Tag in Wolfe City, Tax-Assessor Collector in Celeste/Greenville and as a nurse at Hunt Regional Hospital. Her most fulfilling job was as a full-time housewife and loving mother.
Gladys is survived by her husband of Wolfe City; her children, Ricky Eubanks of Dike, Pam Short of Greenville and Paul Eubanks of Angleton; seven grandchildren, Rachel Potter of Commerce, Kelly Eubanks of Coppell, Matt Eubanks of Dike, Monica Montgomery of Greenville, Christie Scurlock of Greenville, Debra Carew of Greenville and Lauren Eubanks of Waco; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Myrl York, Ruth Shimek and Geraldine Hannabas, all of Dallas; and brother Reford Watkins of Broken Bow, Okla.
One son and one grandson preceded Gladys in death.
