MUSCATINE, Iowa - Ralph M. Danner Sr., 94, of Muscatine, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine.

The Rev. Father Paul Appel will officiate.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.

Following the internment, a time of food and fellowship will be at Gannon Hall.

A memorial has been established at the funeral home

Mr. Danner was born Oct. 29, 1913, in Rock Island County, the son of Louis F. and Philipena (Fuhr) Danner.

He married Sophia Ann Lindle Aug. 9, 1950, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Davenport.

He was a lifetime farmer in the area, most recently at his Maple Grove Farm near Muscatine. He was a member of the Muscatine County Farm Bureau, Muscatine County Cattleman's Association and St. Mathias Catholic Church.

He looked forward every year to going to the Muscatine County Fair and received many awards, such as the Muscatine County Fair Honorary Member award, the Muscatine FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer award and the Muscatine County Cattleman's Association Hall of Fame award.

He will be remembered for feeding and exhibiting champion beef carlots at livestock shows throughout the nation, including the International Livestock Exposition in Chicago.

He will be deeply missed by his wife; three sons, John E. Danner and his wife, Mary, of Letts, Myron L. Danner and his wife, Kathleen, of Burwell, Neb., and Ralph M. Danner Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Muscatine; a daughter, Theresa Ludeking and her husband, George, of Norway, Iowa; six grandsons, Miles Danner, Ben Danner, Jerome Danner, Cole Danner, Jacob Ludeking and Alexander Ludeking; six granddaughters, Stephanie Lukavsky, Molly Danner, Roseanne Danner, Megan Danner, Jackie Danner and Morgan Danner; and two sisters, Elma Baldwin of Muscatine and Jean Phelps and her husband, Jerry, of Rock Island.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carroll Danner; and two sisters, Grace Larson and Ruth, in infancy.
