Jean Phelps, 95, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023, at her Assisted Living facility in Arvada, CO.
She was born October 29, 1927, in Illinois City, Illinois to parents, Louis and Philipena (Fuhr) Danner. She was the youngest of five children and was preceded in death by all her siblings; Grace Larson, Elma Baldwin, Ralph Danner, and Carol Danner.
She married Jerry Earl Phelps on July 2nd, 1952, in Muscatine, Iowa. Jerry Preceded her in death on March 24th, 2021. Son, Roy J. Phelps II is deceased.
Jean and Jerry owned several dry-cleaning establishments in the Rock Island area: Model Cleaners, Jerry On The Spot, Vanderbeke Cleaners, and Phelps Uniform Rental. Jean also owned and managed Center Stage Gifts.
Jean had a special talent for flower arranging and gardening. She enjoyed picnics and wiener roasts. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Inurnment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, IL.
