Funeral Services For Mrs. J B Dalton To Be Held Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. J B Dalton will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, following the arrival Saturday morning of her son, Lionel, from San Francisco.
The services will be held at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. J C Scott, and burial will follow in the Houston Cemetery.
Mrs. Dalton suffered a cerebral hemorrhage Tuesday morning, dying about noon, hardly an hour after she was stricken. She was 49 years of age.
She had suffered a similar attack two years ago but in a few days recovered and had apparently been in good health since that time. Her death came as a shock as she had not complained at all of illness.
A native of Mississippi, Mrs. Dalton was born near Isola being, before her marriage to Mr. Dalton in 1907, Miss Mary Hester Gerrard.
In 1930 the family moved to Houston where Mr. Dalton has been engaged in farming.
When a young woman Mrs. Dalton united with the Baptist Church. Of a quiet, reserved nature, she was appreciated for her sincerity and kindly acts for those about her.
Mrs. Dalton is survived by her husband, J B Dalton, two son, Lionel Dalton, of San Francisco, and Thomas Dalton, of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Edward Shearer, of Houston; her father, Mr. J H Gerrard, a brother, Mr. William H Gerrard, both of Isola; three sisters, Mrs. Melvin Tharp, of Moorhead, Mrs. Wilton Thomas and Mrs. Sam Childress, of Isola; and five grandchildren.
