Died after a lengthy illness.

Ford was preceded in death by his parents, Charles P. and Eurilda "Riller" Taylor, and his loving wife Dorothy Fay Riffe Taylor of 58 years.

He was the youngest of seven children. They were brothers Graydon, Frank and Sam Taylor and sisters Sybil Bandy, Lorene Hogan and Marie Petri.

Survivors include son, Gary D. Fender and Maryellen Fender of Dallas; three granddaughters, Michelle F. Stowe, Melinda E. Fender, and Cary E. Bonner; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Fender, H. Davis Fender, Taylor A. Stowe, and Nicholas A. Stowe; nephew, Arnie D. Riffe and numerous other nephews, nieces and cousins.

Ford was a graduate of Austin High School, Class of 1938. He then entered the U.S. Army in 1940. He served with distinction and bravery in WW II in the European Theater. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his actions and courage.

Ford was an employee of Western Electric. In 1951, he was an employee of Defense Research Lab at the University of Texas and then moved to Tracor in 1965, retiring in 1984.
