OFFICER DANIEL LEACH

Officer Daniel James Leach, 49, of Boulder City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009. He was born Nov. 8, 1960, in East Cleveland, Ohio, and was a resident of Nevada since 1983.

Daniel was a corrections officer and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Police Protection Association and Sheriff's Protective Association.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Elton James Vogel.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Laura L. Leach; son, Christopher James Leach; daughter, Alexandra Louise Leach, all of Boulder City; parents, Sandra and James Leach of Henderson; sister, Audrey J. Rehmer of Willoughby, Ohio; brother, James Michael (Janet) Leach of Lake Oswego, Ore.; mother-in-law, Judith A. Vogel of Boulder City; brother-in-law, Jay (Tami) Vogel of Las Vegas; nephews, Nathan W. Rehmer and Riley Gentz; and nieces, Emily, Carlie and Sarah Leach and Jillian Gentz.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer, 55 E. Reno Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119. Burial will follow at Boulder City City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd., in Boulder City.

Donations can be made to the Daniel James Leach Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Boulder Dam Credit Union, in Boulder City, (702) 293-7777, Account No. 9-69304-00-4. Funds will go to assist students in academic and athletic need, including Dancing Angel Program at Dance, etc.
