Until her recent move to Greensboro, Mrs. Adam had been a resident of Oak Ridge since 1953. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had worked in the church's nursery for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Adam was a sales representative for Avon for 37 years and was a member of Avon's President's Club.
Born in Middlesboro, Ky., on Aug. 16, 1906, she was the daughter of William Henry and Mary Rosina Steele Gagle.
Her first husband, James Hearon, died in 1932, and her second husband, Harold Adam, died in 1969.
Mrs. Adam is survived by her daughter, Karol Adam Neufeld and her husband, John, of Greensboro; two sons, James Creighton Hearon of Leavenworth, Kan., and William Seger Hearon and his wife, Wendy, of Greensboro; and her stepdaughter, Laura Adam Mastropasqua and her husband, Dominic, of Bowling Green, Ky.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael Hearon and his wife, Kim, of Powell, Karla Hearon of Greeneville, Paul Neufeld, Adam Neufeld and Margot Neufeld, all of Greensboro, Joe Mastropasqua and his wife, Connie, of Murfreesboro, and Cheryl M. Whitfield and her husband, Warren, of Bowling Green; and three great-grandchildren, Brian Whitfield and Christopher Whitfield, both of Murfreesboro, and Michael Mastropasqua of Bowling Green.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Feb. 15, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Larry Dipboye officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the mortuary.
The family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to the Fund for Large-Print Books, Oak Ridge Public Library, 1401 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
