Oscar J. Everett

Oscar Josiah Everett, son of Josiah and Adelia Everett, was born in Grundy County, Iowa, November 11, 1876, and passed away September 16, 1939, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Stradley, Fort Morgan, Colorado, at the age of 62 years, 10 months and 14 days.

He came with his parents to Clay County, Nebraska where he resided until 1937, when he moved to Sutton, Nebraska, later moving to Fort Morgan, Colorado, where he resided until his death.

He was united in marriage to Jennie Overturf in 1898. To this union were born four children Lester Everett of Ferndale, Washington; Laurel Everett of Los Angeles, California; Mrs Helen Stradley of Fort Morgan, Colorado; and Mrs. Margaret Waline of Lincoln, Nebraska, all of whom survive him.

His wife passed away September 19, 1933. Remaining to mourn his passing besides his immediate family, are five grandchildren, one brother, Elias Everett, of Sutton, Nebraska; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Ong Methodist Church Thursday, September 21, 1939. at 10:00 o'clock with Rev. Raymond Rush in charge. Interment was made in the Ong Cemetery.
