Anna's first husband was Jan Bartlaga (1886-1923). Jan and Anna were married on November 17, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois. Jan Bartlaga and Anna had at least five children together including: Theresa, Harriet "Jadwiga," Frank, Jan Walter and Irena Bartlaga. Anna was daughter of Andrzej and Mary Nykiel and the sister of Sophie and Agnes Nykiel. Anna died at Holy Cross Hospital. She is buried between her two husbands - Jan Bartlaga and Jan Podsadecki.
