George Stokes Wilder, 65, died 6 a.m. Monday at the North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell, Wyo., after a long illness.

He was retired assistant superintendent of the Great Western Sugar Co. Mr. Wilder was born at Silver Reef, Utah, April 16, 1896, a son of James Gilmore and Lizzie A. Nicholls Wilder.

He came to Lovell, Wyo., in 1907. He worked for the Great Western Company for 43 years. in 1929 he was transferred to Windsor, Colo., and returned to Lovell a few weeks previous to his death.

He married Sylvia Sawyer July 14, 1919, in Billings.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Folden, Tuscon, Ariz., and Mrs. Kathryn Lind, Globe, Ariz.,; two brothers, Thomas Wilder, Lovell, and Harold Wilder, Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Norma Iris, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Kate Moncur, Lovell, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of the Big Horn LDS Stake, Bishop Scott M. Welch, officiating.

Burial will be in the Lovell City Cemetery.
