Husband of Sophiah (McFadden) Hardesty (1798-1832). Sophiah and Henry were married on March 28, 1814 in Adams County, Ohio and they had at least five children together, four daughters an one son, including: Mary, Charles, Elizabeth, and Angeline Hardesty and another daughter born between 1817 and 1825. Henry was a Corporal in the War of 1812 - 1st Ohio Militia (Mills Regiment) under Capt. Elijah Martin. Henry was the son of Joshua Hardesty and Ruth (Bell/Beall) Hardesty and grandson of Joshua Hardesty and Keziah (Simmons)Hardesty. Henry's mother was a descendant of the Scottish Beall family who came to Maryland in the 1600's. She was either a direct descendant of Col. Ninian Beall (1625-1717)or related to one of his brothers. Henry's wife died when she was 34 and Henry was 40. Henry lived 41 more years, but did not remarry.
