Joshua was the oldest son of James and unknown Gamblin. He married Jane "Jinsey" Lensey in about 1832 and they had one son - William Henry. He moved to Missouri in 1859/60 with his wife, son and his son's family. It is believed he died several years after the moved to Missouri. The Schermesser Farm Cemetery was on the original Gamblin family farm, but was sold after the death of Joshua's son William Henry in 1889.
