SHELBY Mr. Floyd Dempsey Hopson, 91, of Grover, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Yancey County, he was a son of the late Isaac and Lounette Bailey Hopson.
He was a retired superintendent from Lawson United Feldspar Mining Co., and was a member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Earl Hopson; and two sisters, Lucy Gortney and Maxine Gortney.
The funeral will be at Patterson Springs Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
