Clara taught first and second grades in Santa Clara, St. George and Hurricane, Utah. She often was referred to as one of her students "favorite" teachers. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in several capacities. Clara loved being outdoors, caring for her flowers and garden. She bottled peaches until her 100th birthday. A talented seamstress, she was always sewing clothes for her family. She also made many beautiful quilts, upholstered furniture and wrote beautiful poetry.
Clara is survived by her daughter, Lynn Thorne (Allen) of Santa Clara, UT and her son, Karl (Xsaoping Xu) of St. George; 15 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life; and a brother, Ray Graf. She is preceded in death by her son, Clair; grandson, Adam; and daughter-in-law, Diane Sorenson. Clara has waited a long time to see her beloved family. There will be a glorious reunion with her three sisters, Virginia, Arvilla and Elva and three brothers, Elmer, Gideon and Sylvan.
A special thank you for the loving care given by the staff of St. George Care and Rehab and Hospice Alliance and her faithful friend of many years Lail Wilkinson.
