Succumbs at 73
To Heart Attack

W. Alex Roberts, 73, native of Gilmer and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Roberts, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home in Dallas, at 3:30 Monday afternoon.

Born in Gilmer on March 12, 1886, he left here in 1907 to
work for the telephone company in Tyler. Two years later he
went to Dallas for Western Union Telegraph Company, in
the T&P Railway offices. Later he became superintendent of
communications for the T.&P., a position he held until his retirement in 1952.

Survivors include his wife, a son, C. A. Roberts of Richardson, and a daughter Mrs. Fred Ramsey of Dallas, four grand-children and three great grand-children.
Also, two brothers and five sisters, Mrs. Sallie Ware, Temple; Mrs. Annie Oliver, Gilmer; Mrs. Milton Fore, Houston; Charlie H. Roberts, Gilmer; Mrs. Mack C. Graham, Waco and Walter Roberts of Fort Worth.

Mrs. Roberts was a member of East Dallas Masonic Lodge,
Dallas Consistory of the Scottish Rite, Hella Temple, Petroleum Electronics Supply Assn. and the Fifth Church of Christ Scientist.

Funeral services were held at 2 p..m. Wednesday at Restland
Memorial Chapel, with internment in Restland Cemetery.
