Harold "Tice" Bynum, 74, of 16380 U.S. Route 45 South, Ozark, died 10:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at Joyner Cemetery near Stonefort with the Rev. Dave Miller and the Rev. Keith McDaniel officiating. Those wishing to attend the service should meet at the cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of the arrangements.
He was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Saline County to the late George and Myrtle (Absher) Bynum. On April 15, 1950, he married the former Kathleen Dorris, who survives.
He was retired from Will Scarlet and Eagle No. 2 as a U.M.W.A. coal miner. He was a member of the New Vision Church of Ozark, attended the Walnut Grove Baptist Church of Harrisburg and was a member of the Carrier Mills Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and wife, Jim and Marsha Bynum of Vienna; a daughter and husband, Kathy and Richard Hankins of Broughton; four brothers, Lloyd Bynum of Carlyle, Ind., Herbert Bynum of Memphis, Tenn., Fred Bynum of Ozark and Maury Bynum of Stonefort; four grandchildren, Denise Kennedy, Billi Jo Headrick, Jennifer Reeder and Matthew Bynum; and five great-grandchildren, Jordan and Madison Kennedy, J.P. and Marki Hutchison and Christina Dee Bynum.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepfather, Leo Bynum; a brother, Bill Joe Bynum; and a great-grandchild, Zachary Tyce Reeder.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Joyner Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the graveside.
