He was born May 4, 1874, at Mapleton Depot R.D., Huntingdon County, a son of Peter and Amanda (Hanawalt) Dell. He was married to Rosa Belle Cartwright on July 30, 1896, at Huntingdon. She preceded him in death in April 1930.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ervie A. Lee, Barnesboro, and two sons, Walter H. Dell, Everett and Frank B. Dell, Langdondale. There are two grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, David H. Dell of Mapleton R.D., and one sister, Mrs. Elba (Verna) Querry of Mapleton R.D. Twelve brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Dell was a member of the Langdondale Methodist Church. He was a member of the UMWA, Local 602, District 2. He was a 50-year member of the Hopewell and Saxton IOOF. Mr. Dell retired in 1944 from the Petit Coal Company of Six Mile Run R.D.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26, at 2 p.m. from the Langdondale Methodist Church. The Rev. Gerald Hess, pastor of the church will officiate. Interment will be made in the Hopewell Cemetery, under the direction of the Masood Funeral service, Saxton.
Friends may call at the Frank Dell residence in Langdondale after 7 p.m. this evening until 12:30 p.m. Thursday and then at the church until the time for the service.
