Mrs. Minerva (Lane) Doyle, a native of Three Springs, died at her home Saturday morning, September 16, 1933, aged 67 years, 10 months and 11 days. She was born November 5, 1865 on the farm in Clay Township now owned by her brother Scott Lane. She was the daughter of Abraham and Evelyn Lane, both deceased. She was united in marriage to D. W. Doyle, September 3, 1882 and to this union the following children were born: an infant, dying in infancy; Hazel, deceased; Daisy, wife of Fray Soultz, Altoona; Pauline, wife of Carl Beard, Plainfield, NJ; and Malcolm, Planfield. She leaves to mourn her loss her grief-stricken husband, three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Nettie Ramsey, Maddensville; Mrs. Alda Postlethwaite, Mount Union; Mrs. Joe Lamberson, Staten Island, NY; Scott Lane, Three Springs; and Larkin, Wood. Mrs. Doyle lived her entire married life of 51 years in the home in which she finally passed away. Her body was laid to rest on Monday afternoon, September 18, in the Three Springs Cemetery, the funeral having been in charge of her pastor, Rev. J. A. Herritt, minister of the Methodist Church at that place. The funeral was held at the home and was directed by Leslie R. Green, mortician. The high esteem in which she was held was shown by the host of relatives and friends at the service and by the many floral tributes. She will be greatly missed in the community as she was always ready to lend a helping hand when her health permitted; unfortunately, she had been in poor health for ten years but bore her afflictions with Christian fortitude and patience.
