MRS. ELNORA DOUGLAS
Mrs. Elnora Douglas, aged 78 years, died at her home in Monroe, Wednesday, December 20, 1922, after an illness of several weeks, her illness and death being consequence of old age. Mrs. Douglas' body was brought here Thursday morning on the 8:10 pm train and interment was made in the Old Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Haywood, rector of the Monroe Episcopal Church, conducted the services.

Mrs. Douglas is survived by one son:
Dan Douglas of Bastrop

Mrs. Douglas was the widow of the late Captain W. P. Douglas, who died about twenty-five years ago and who was Sheriff of Morehouse Parish for many years. In the days of their residence in Bastrop, the Sheriff and his wife kept open house, the couple were among the best beloved in the parish and their home was a scene of true Southern hospitality. Mrs. Douglas was a devout Christian lady and the possessor of all those attributes of character and mind which go to win enduing love and friendshio.

After the death of Captain W. P. Douglas, she left Bastrop to make her home with her brother, Judge William Napoleon Potts who died in 1914, in Monroe and resided there with the family until her death.

The funeral was attended by a large number of friends and among those who accompanied her boday from Monroe were Mr. & Mrs. J. N. Potts, Misses Annie and Rebecca Gray, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Starsney, Mr. & Mrs. John Keller and Mr. Ollie Douglas.
