Services for Fulton Sanders, 84, Athens are scheduled for 2 pm Saturday in Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Randy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Ash Cemetery. He was born Nov. 8, 1923 in Athens to the late James Randolf and Osie Fultin Sanders and was a lifelong resident of the county. Mr. Fulton worked as a machine operator for Cotten Belt/Southern Pacfic Railroad for 35 years. He was an avid fishman and enjoyed entertaining his grand children with a pole and a hook at the lake. Fulton was an accomplished artist and enjoyed spending time with a brush and palette. In years past he had a knack for custom lamo making from roots and was featured in the Athens Revie for this unusual artistic ability. He was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Sanders; brother Alvin Sanders; sisters, Josie Cantrell, Thelma Anderson Grace Navy and Ola Mae Mosley. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nola Leopard Sanders, Athens; son Jerry Sanders,Athens; daughters, Anita Cook, Athens; Gloria Donehoo, Wink; Marthat Withrow, Fla; 12 grandchildren, John Sanders, Mat Sanders, Kathryn Rodgers, Lane Rodgers, Wade Cook, Lori Warren, Crystal Harper, Sarah Odell, Pam White, Susan Sherice, Kevin Sanders, Kim Sanders; 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces. Pallbearers are John Sanders, Matt Sanders, Lane Rodgers, James Sanders, Tony Cook, and Wade Cook.
